How to Live Longer by Having Fun


It is inevitable that we all have to age, in fact from the moment we are born we begin the aging process. However; there is no reason why we can't learn how to enjoy aging by taking up a healthy lifestyle. This doesn't mean though that you have to do nothing but ride treadmills and eat nothing but salads each day of the week. Enjoying aging can have some fun added to it as well.

If you like wine for instance go a head and include one or two glasses of red wine each day. Red wine is filled with an antioxidant called resveratrol. This helps to protect the body against some of the effects aging has on the body. By drinking red wine each day you could actually help the aging of your body to slow down some.

Something else that has a lot of antioxidants in it is dark chocolate. Make sure that you find a a very good quality and make sure to include a little bit of it in your daily diet each day. Also, it has been discovered that if chocolate may always be able to lower your blood pressure and your cholesterol as well. It also will give you a nice boost of energy.

Don't forget to smile. This is a wonderful way to make you feel better and it helps you to stay connected with other people. People love to be around other people with a smile on their face. It will also counteract how stress effects our body. Even if you force yourself to smile you will be tricking your body into thinking that everything is okay which in turn will help reduce the stress. Smiling can change your mood quickly. Enjoying aging with a smile on your face will definitely lift your spirits and the spirits of others around. Even if you don't feel like smiling do it anyway and before you know it, you'll be smiling because you want to.

You need to learn how to allow yourself some relaxation. Relaxation is important because it is the total opposite of stress. Stress not only speeds up aging but it can also have a variety of harmful effects on your body. On the other hand, relaxation will help your body get rest, will help it to heal and to function a lot better. You should try and practice some daily relaxation exercises so that you can help train yourself to be able to actually turn the stress off and replace it with calmness. Not only will this help lower your blood pressure a long with your heart rate it will also help you handle the challenges that life throws at you a lot easier.

You should find some sort of game or exercise that you can do not just by yourself but with others as well. By participating with others it will help your mind have a workout as well. It's important to remember that whatever the game or exercise, it needs to be something that will suit your physical ability. You don't want to do something that is too difficult, because this will only cause your body more stress. Once you find something that suits you it is in your best interest to try and make it as fun as you possibly can.

One of the most important things for your body is sleep. Most people simply do not get enough sleep and this is a sure fire way of speeding up the aging process. Certain medicines, your stress, sickness as well as bad sleeping habits can all attribute to poor sleep. Remember that your body requires anywhere from seven to nine hours of sleep each night. So try and make it a point that you get in the habit of getting this much sleep.

It is important to spend time with those you love and care about. Having good relationships is a very important part of staying healthy and if you have some strong bonds with friends and family it will help keep away the feelings of depression and loneliness, both of which can speed up the aging process. So spend some quality time with those you are close to. You all will benefit from it.
